Seventh Annual New Year’s Day Hangover Marathon at Comedy Sportz, 929 W. Belmont, 6:00 p.m. Cody Melcher hosts twenty of Chicago’s comedy stars, including Martin Morrow (Last Comic Standing), Xavier Lamont (Comedy Central’s Roast Battle), Amy Sumpter (Last Comic Standing), Jeff Arcuri (Laughs on FOX) and more TBA. Until 10:00 p.m. Audience members should feel free to come and go during the marathon. “Hair of the dog” drinks will be available.

Time is of the Essence: A Neo-Futurist Retrospective & Benefit at 5153 N. Ashland, 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. A tribute performance and celebration of twenty-eight years and 9,775 plays. Coming up: the Neo-Futurists’ next original pursuit.

Late as F**k at iO, 1501 N. Kingsbury, 7:00 p.m. Sketch, improv, stand-up and music in a special New Year’s Day edition of the show.

Your Feature Presentation: Rock ‘n Roll Nightmare at The Laugh Factory, 3175 N. Broadway, 7:00 p.m. This show is like Mystery Science Theater 3000, but with audience participation, games and prizes to the big winner. Hosted by Jonah Jurkens and Nate Burrows. Featuring Rachel McCartney and Toler Wolf. Special guest: Chris Redd (Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping).
