Arlieta Hall and Adonis Holmes appeared on WGN News Chicago Spotlight on March 5 to talk about Black By Popular Demand at Second City. It’s a meaningful show with iconic Chicago moments where the audience can expect to be an integral part of the fun. Even news anchors Ji Suk Yi and Sarah Jindra got drawn into the improv games. John Mulaney presented the award for Best Sound at last night’s Academy Awards. His remarks were very Chicago – an extended unconventional riff on movies that went in delightfully surprising directions, completely against the grain of typical Oscar banter. Calls for him to be named host in 2025 immediately went viral and glowing reviews quickly appeared on multiple sites, including Vulture, People, Today.com, and GQ. Calls for Mulaney to be named Oscar host first took off after he “killed” as emcee of the 2024 Governors Awards in January.
